Hello to YOU! How ya doing?
I have finally finished my fall wreath for this year! Life has been moving in so many directions around here. The wreath is really simple and should have only taken an afternoon BUT it had to be accomplished in stages. I am so excited it is finished and I just love it!
Let me show you how easy it really was…
The Supplies:
- Wire Wreath Form
- Scissors
- Pipe cleaners – cut in half
- Ribbon in various widths and styles
Step 1:
Pick your base ribbon and weave it through out the wire wreath. I create a loop towards the top part of the wire wreath, then a loop toward the bottom, then a loop toward the middle. Repeat this process all the way around the wire wreath form.
Step 2:
Cut ribbon in 8 inch lengths. Fold in half and create loops. Secure loop with pipe cleaner and attach to wreath. I find it easier to work around my wreath one type of ribbon at a time. I imagine a “clock” and begin to place my loops at 1 o’clock, 4 o’clock, 7 o’clock, 10 o’clock. My next ribbon choice would fill in 2 o’clock, 5 o’clock, 8 o’clock, 11 o’clock. My third ribbon choice would begin filling in at 3 o’clock… you get the idea.
*** With narrow ribbon- pull two loops together with one pipe cleaner- treat them as one loop. ***
Step 3:
Cut 8 inch strips of ribbon. Pinch in the middle. Secure with a pipe cleaner. Attach to wreath.
Step 4:
Add a heavy textured ribbon as a filler. This ribbon will remain on the roll. Just as in step 1, work your way around the wreath creating loops where needed. Cut off excess and tuck into wreath.
Step 5:
Accessorize- if you want!
This wreath looks pretty great all on its own.
If you get the itch to add a little extra love- you can add a monogram (I got the one in the picture from Michael’s). I attached the monogram with pipe cleaners.
or You can add a little fun with a framed picture. For Halloween- I couldn’t pass this one up. I simply hotglued ribbon to the back and attached the ribbon to the wreath. I will add soft pads on the back of the frame to keep it from knocking about when answering the door.
One more item taken care of for the new Fall porch makeover. I am determined to finish the porch this weekend and I will share the updates next week!
Till Later,
